Overview
LLong Lee Manor is situated on one of the largest malaria free Big 5 private game reserve’s in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Shamwari Game Reserve, which is regarded as ‘The Pride of the Eastern Cape’. Located along the Bushman’s River between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown, Shamwari forms a natural extension of the world famous Garden Route. This gracious Edwardian Manor House echoes traditions of the past offering colonial style accommodation, manicured gardens, pools and ponds, terraces and verandas. Long Lee Manor offers 5 Rooms and 10 Suites which overlook magnificent plains teaming with wildlife which is secured by a perimeter electrical fence. Unique to this Lodge is the temperature controlled wine cellar and fitness centre which includes a steam room and sauna. Equipped with two pools, inside and outside dinning facilities, conference facility and relaxation retreat, Long Lee Manor is perfect for that tranquil escape and luxurious safari trip where wildlife can be seen and enjoyed in their natural environment. While staying at Long Lee Manor, guest can enjoy everything that Shamwari Game Reserve has to offer, such as sunrise and sunset game drives which lasts up to 3 hours, star gazing and the relaxation retreats, bush walks, and the option to take part in their very own game ranger training program. Shamwari is also home to South Africa’s most experienced wildlife teams with a working Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre which includes a visit to the Animal Hospital to see the facilities and view any current patients and the animal bomas to view any larger patients. Passionate and committed to the conservation of our planet and wildlife, the Shamwari Group is partnered with The Born Free Foundation and the Wilderness Foundation. The only Born Free Rescue Centre in the country is based at Shamwari game Reserve, as well as the Ian Player Rhino Awareness Centre. Shamwari also offers a unique ‘kids on safari’ programme which ensures there is something for everyone to learn and to experience.
