Overview
LLebo's Soweto offers accommodation, tours, African cuisine and day events in the famous suburb of Soweto - Orlando West. We are situated just a few blocks away from the famous Vilakazi Street and the Hector Pieterson Memorial, commemorating the Students Uprisings of 1976. Lebo Malepa started selling craft by the Nelson Mandela house as well as Hector Pieterson Memorial in the late 1990's when tourism was still being introduced in the township. He quickly became aware of the gap in the market - no one that visited Soweto really did it as a local or with local people. Lebo started offering walking tours to take people out of the buses and into the streets to really experience the people, their history and their culture. He later started accommodating guests in Soweto's first Backpackers hostel. Interactive tour experiences were later offered such as the ever growing and popular Soweto Bicycle Tour. Today the business has grown to offer Tuk Tuk rides, traditionally cooked African cuisine, corporate and community events, live music, camp festivals and story telling sessions.
