Overview
iiKhaya Lodge & Conference Centre is situated in the heart of Cape Town's beautiful City Bowl, ideally located in quaint and quiet Dunkley Square, Gardens. The lodge has a unique 'Safari Feel' that belies it's urban surroundings, and one can be forgiven when enjoying a sundowner on the patio whilst contemplating the stunning view of Table Mountain, to also expect to catch a graceful giraffe from the corner of their eye! The decor and ambiance is crafted around creating a relaxing ambiance, intended to instantly relax the traveller, and hopefully, the warm smile from the reception team makes one feel at home. Staying at iKhaya Lodge & Conference Centre, one is constantly reminded of being on African soil. The music is Pan African, popular tunes from Cape Verde to Kinshasa, east to Kenya and South to Zimbabwe and of course South Africa, mix happily with melodies from Senegal and Morocco and guests often ask where they can purchase the music. This unique property embraces eleven standard en-suite rooms, framed by hand crafted doors and light fittings whilst the eucalyptus rafters are known to release a delicate scent in the height of summer. The apartments are spacious and allow for plenty of natural light. The mountain facing rooms, offer spectacular views of Table Mountain and Lion's Head barely five minutes drive away. iKhaya's ideal location allows for easy access to most of the City's key attractions. The Iziko Museums are all within ten minutes walking distance as is the CBD and Parliament buildings. The V&A Waterfront is a leisurely 40 minute walk and the CTICC 30 minutes walk. Access to the key motorways is simplified as one need not go through the city. Our 24 hour reception team are always eager to assist, mean that planning an itinerary or choosing where to eat dinner can be done with some local input where needed. A full breakfast is included in the rate. Breakfast is served in the welcoming lounge restaurant area. The continental spread includes a selection of cereals, breads, yogurts, juices, fruit-salad and of course coffee and tea. Lattes, espressos or cappuccinos are also included in the breakfast. Lunch or dinner can be enjoyed on the square in any of the three restaurants opposite the lodge offering either Greek, Indian or Pub fare respectively. Within 10 to 15 minutes walk are a wide range of restaurants along the famous Kloof and Long Streets, and one need not go too far. At the end of the day, the roomy couches in the lounge beg for company and magazines and daily papers are spread out for easy reading. And then there’s always the cosy and private balconies to be enjoyed in the standard rooms and the mountain facing apartments. All in all, we look forward to each person that walks through our doors and we always hope that they leave feeling welcomed, relaxed and having enjoyed warm hospitality.
