We are off to South Africa for an epic road trip and we can’t wait! We are driving from Johannesburg to Cape Town, but we’re going do it the long way round. We’ll go to Durban, along the coast to Port Elizabeth, past the Garden Route and Klein Karoo desert to Cape Town. There’ll be some awesome food and wine, some crazy extreme bungee stuff, some surfing, and lots and lots of sharks – eek!! Windsurfing is popular in Cape Town - Bloubergstrand and Langebaan are popular destinations. Windsurfing is also popular inland on lakes, dams and rivers.
The Cango Route stretches from Oudtshoorn, the world’s ostrich capital, over the R328 to the Swartberg Pass, a marvel in mountain pass construction, and back to Oudtshoorn. The road through the Cango Valley might only be 30km long, but if you take it slow and enjoy the attractions along the way, you’ll soon see the magic of it all.
