YYou’d be forgiven for thinking you are in Tuscany, but you aren’t, you’re at Montecasino in Fourways, Joburg—where you can gamble, eat, drink, visit the bird park, take the kids to the arcade, and see a show or movie—and love it all.

Designed to meticulously represent an old Italian village in Tuscany, this entertainment complex has over 2km of restaurants and entertainment venues, and an 8500m2 gaming casino. Visitors to the casino are in for a real treat. Open 24 hours a day, there are over 80 gaming tables including American roulette, baccarat, poker, craps, and blackjack. For poker players, regular tournaments take place here, while other promotions and competitions will give everyone a run for their money.

Did You Know?
TThe Montecasino complex was designed from over 6000 drawings, creating an authentic representation of a Tuscan village.

IIf you’re new to gambling—or reckon your odds are better with the one-armed bandit—choose a slot machine and take your seat. There are 100 progressive jackpots on the go, including a slots tournament every Sunday. For high rollers, the exclusive Salon Privé hosts Stud Poker; a game where it’s you versus the dealer, double or quits.

MMany don’t just come to gamble though. You can also enjoy live music, spend time at the fantastic bookshop, see a movie at one of the 15 cinemas, take in a show at one of the theatres, hang out in the kids' area, visit the amazing bird park for a fun and educational experience with your kids, or enjoy an outdoor event like a food market, bierfest or rugby festival. There are also bars, restaurants, jewellery stores, art galleries and boutique clothing stores for those who want to celebrate big wins and little losses.

If you feel you’ve been there for too long, look up. The faux sky changes according to the time of day, as does the light breeze ruffling the washing that’s hanging between the Tuscan-style houses.
