KidZania

KidZania offers children a fun, yet realistic take into the adult world, as they get the unique opportunity to experience a number of ‘jobs’ or leisure activities.

The interactive city covering over 7 000 square meters is for children aged 2-14. The newly built indoor city houses a Boeing 737 at the centre and when you arrive at KidZania, you will find yourself at the "airport check-in area".

"When you check in, you and your kids will each receive a security bracelet with GPS tracking device. This will be active for your four-hour time slot, and will deactivate when your time slot is up," says the KidZania site, adding that the experience allows kids to work, earn and play.

Where: Fourways Mall, Johannesburg.

When: To be confirmed.

Outdoor adventure at Sun City

Sun City in North West now boasts even more outdoor adventure. Based at the resort is Mankwe Gametrackers which offers guided tours and safaris at the nearby Pilanesberg. It has added new experiences that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Thapelo Modise, Marketing Manager at Sun City, says diverse offerings combine "action-packed entertainment options for all ages, as well as opportunities to relax and enjoy the quietness of nature".

Chimp & Zee is a new rope adventure at treetop level above the Valley of Waves, made up of individual elevated obstacles - from high balancing beams, speedy zip lines, and hanging spider nets to jungle rope bridges and much more. With each rope adventure requiring a different approach and set of skills, it is an excellent developmental tool for young and old.

There will soon be a mountain bike route in the Letsatsing Game Park, covering about 9kms. Spot wildlife such as Wildebeest, Impala, Sable, Zebra, Giraffe, Warthogs, Nyala, Kudu and more.
