QQuench your thirst in Cape Town at some of the best bars in the world - where your bartenders are called mixologists and your drink looks more dressed up than you.

Cape Town has bars with weird gimmicks, the ones for those with a refined taste or where you can dance your worries away - and sometimes a wildcard that will keep your social life interesting.
Remember though - drink responsibly and no driving - make taxis and lift-sharing apps your best friend.
Here are the spots that will fill your long weekend with exciting adventures through the streets of Cape Town.

Did You Know?
TThe Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town is the most visited destination in South Africa – ahead of Table Mountain.

TThe weird:
The House of Machines is a bike shop and men's clothing store by day and by night it turns into a biker watering hole in the middle of the city on Shortmarket Street. The spot is a fusion of everything that gives us fuel - coffee, beer, cocktails - as well as live music to keep the engine roaring.

TThe exclusive:
Indulge in luxury at the Bascule Bar - a whiskey and wine bar found at the water's edge of the international yacht marina on Cape Town's Waterfront. Perfect for drinks after an evening of fine dining, you can swirl your palette with one of their exclusive whiskey tastings.

The party scene:
Rock to golden oldies, punk and local bands filling up the soul of Aces ‘n Spades - normally the last destination of the night after some karaoke at Manila Bar. It might be small but it always throws a mean party and the eclectic decor could make you want to get a tattoo the next morning.

The date spot:
If you think you can impress your date with your mambo moves, Cape to Cuba is a sexy spot for a weekend drinks date. Their cocktail menu is an adventure in itself and combined with the music you might just feel like you've escaped to an island paradise where you smoke cigars and dance until your feet fall off.

The wildcard:
The Botanical Bar is shaking up Longmarket street with their housemade bitters and shrubs combos, inspired by South Africa's botanical varieties. You can get The Great Karoo with tequila and grapefruit, The Kwazulu Coast with rum and fruit spices, The Cederberg with brandy and hoenderbos and The West Coast with gin and coastal bitters.
