SSouth African Tourism is committed to continuously working towards sector transformation and sustainability. As such, part of the Summer Different campaign is dedicated to aid SMMEs through the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure a sustainable recovery for all within the tourism value chain. 

The nine-week long campaign will include an all-day SMME workshop in every province, aimed at equipping them with the necessary skills and tools to navigate this new environment and to equip them to be future fit.

The workshops will be held in partnership with the “I am an entrepreneur” initiative and will unpack smart strategies and critical elements for SMME growth in the digital era. The workshops will also feature insights and training from Google. Through the Sho’t Left website, South African Tourism also aims to provide a market access for the SMMEs, by allowing them the space to upload their deals and products onto the Sho’t Left website to be enjoyed by both locals and internationals alike.

The Summer Different campaign is executed in collaboration with all the nine provinces, partnering to unearth the hidden gems, demonstrate how tourism can be done differently and importantly to showcase that tourism is for everyone.
