FForever Resorts Badplaas

South African Tourism (SA Tourism) Management has been in touch with Forever Resorts officials this afternoon.

This follows flash flooding at the popular Forever Resorts Badplaas property in Mpumalanga that caused damage to some of the resorts public areas as well as the Hydro and Spa.

Around 100 millimetres of rain fell in 80 minutes in the area around the resort earlier today causing the flash flooding.

No injuries were reported and no damage was caused to the various accommodation areas in the resort.

“We are grateful for the efforts of resort management that ensured that the safety of visitors and guests were top priority while assessing the damage and ensuring clean-up operations took place,” said SA Tourism CEO, Sisa Ntshona.

“As a popular family destination, I have also noted that that accommodation areas were not affected which is good news for visitors who have confirmed bookings,” added Ntshona.

The Hydro and Spa has been closed until further notice, while entertainment scheduled for today and tomorrow has been cancelled.

The Forever Resort Badplaas was a Lilizela Provincial Winner this year in the three-star camping and caravan category.

Chief Quality Assurance Officer at SA Tourism, Darryl Erasmus also commended the speedy work of the resort’s management and staff.

“Forever Resorts are long standing members and supporters of the Tourism Grading Council. We are confident that management will deal with the aftermath of this freak storm whilst ensuring that guest standards are never compromised,” said Erasmus.

Guests and visitors who have any further queries can contact Johan Bezuidenhout on +27 17 884 8000 or make contact with the resort via their Facebook page. Forever Resorts are also posting regular updates via twitter through its @ForeverResortSA account.
