WWith stunning shopping malls popping up all over the province, it’s difficult to decide which one to visit. Should delegates find themselves in Umhlanga, then the Gateway Theatre of Shopping is the best option to shop till you drop. It’s considered the biggest mall in the Southern Hemisphere and for good reason: it comprises of over 390 stores, 70 eateries and a host of entertainment for shoppers to enjoy. In Durban’s city centre is the Victoria Street Market, an ideal place for those who want to experience the city’s unique street-shopping culture. Considering there are approximately 170 stalls to choose from, you’re bound to grab a bargain. Besides clothing stalls, the Victoria Street Market is well known for its curry stalls, where shoppers can spice up their culinary skills with an array of curry powders and spices. This is typically unique to Durban’s Indian community.
