WWedding and honeymoon accommodation in South Africa covers a broad range of destinations and establishments, offering everything from simple ceremonies and rooms to completely over the top, ultra-luxury events and suites.

Many wedding and honeymoon venues have dedicated wedding planners on hand to help you plan every detail of your special day – from local florists and caterers to the best local photographers and videographers. Larger venues generally come with their own chapels and almost all venues have on-site bridal accommodation suites to ensure the perfect end to the perfect day.

For beach and mountain ceremonies and accommodation, consider KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape. For bush weddings that offer authentic wildlife experiences and lodge or tented camp accommodation, look for venues in Mpumalanga, the North West and Limpopo. Be sure to check out the lodges in the Sabi Sand Reserve and Kruger National Park. And for services, receptions and accommodation with a charming ‘country’ feel, try venues in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands, Cape Winelands and Free State.

Cities like Cape Town and Johannesburg offer wedding accommodation for you and your guests in luxury hotels that also have exquisite venues. These are very accessible for international visitors and make an excellent base from which to start your South African wedding and honeymoon journey.

To ensure exceptional service levels during your wedding preparations and on the day itself, look for wedding and honeymoon accommodation establishments graded by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.

There are many with 4- and 5-star gradings that promise unforgettable experiences. These often include romantic touches like private decks with splash pools or hot tubs, generous bathrooms with spa baths, and open fireplaces.

Or go for all-in-one wedding packages for a fuss-free approach. These include full wedding coordination, the ceremony and reception, and either wedding night accommodation or the full honeymoon stay for the bridal couple. A number of venues as well as certain tour operators offer such packages. Visit Weddings Abroad online for more original South African wedding package ideas, or visit Pink Book online for a directory of wedding information.

Then of course there are the honeymoons in South Africa. There are hundreds of accommodation venues that cater specifically for honeymooners. Here activities such as couples massages, romantic picnics, and memorable hot-air balloon flights, are all part of the overnight experience.

Bridal couples seeking high-octane honeymoon adventures, including abseiling, bungy jumping, parachuting and all manner of water sports are equally well catered for.
