Gauteng

PPeople should ride on the Gautrain once in their lives, it is such an efficient and safe way to travel for business and pleasure in Gauteng and it gets you around the city effortlessly.
Security cameras are operational and security guards patrol all the stations and parking areas. Only passengers who have an electronic ticket have access to Gautrain’s stations and the parking areas.

Motorists can travel to the stations and leave their cars at the safe parking bays that are next to the train stations.

Various South African and international engineering disciplines and engineering firms collaborated in the design of the system as a whole. Midrand, Centurion and Pretoria stations were designed by Terry Farrell of England.

Did You Know?
TThe Gautrain is an 80km commuter rail system in Gauteng, which links Johannesburg, Pretoria, Ekurhuleni and OR Tambo International Airport.

HHere are four reasons why you should try the Gautrain:

It is convenient: With the rising cost of meter taxis, it's often a better idea to take the Gautrain. I usually step out of the plane, grab my luggage and head for the Gautrain station. There is a special entry to the station via OR Tambo International Airport. The process is fuss-free and reliable. It is also faster to get to the airport, especially with the hectic Johannesburg traffic.

IIt is great for travellers: For people who are constantly on the go, it is great that the Gautrain is travel-friendly. There are designated spots on the train for your suitcases.

It gets you to your destination on time: Similar to the MyCiti bus system in Cape Town, the Gautrain alerts users on the time the next train will arrive. Most trains take 10 minutes to arrive during peak season.

You make new friends: The Gautrain is a place to meet people from all walks of life. The melting pot of cultures allows you to have diverse conversations with local and international tourists.

Next time you arrive in the Province of Gauteng and need a mode of transportation, look no further than the Gautrain, it is super-efficient, super reliable and even super fun.
