TThe Twelve Apostles Hotel and Sanctuary Spa is a magical place set among giant rocks on the slopes of an ancient mountain. The spa is all wood, natural colours and soft lighting with candles everywhere. It's almost a dark cave-like atmosphere leading to the spa and there's a deliberate cocooning feel as you are warmly welcomed to a space of tranquility and the ultimate pampering.
There are seven treatment rooms on offer at the Twelve Apostles Spa and a number of treatments utilise the indigenous fynbos that grows in the Cape Floral Kingdom. Alternatively ditch staying indoors for a massage in one of the mountain spa gazebos (with breathtaking views of the mountains and ocean).
This spa also has one of the only Rasul Chambers in Cape Town (a major plus) and additional facilities include a flotation tank, hot stone therapies and energising and detoxifying body wraps. Special treatments include the Moya crystal massage, the Soul-to-Sole massage (back and foot massage), a hydrotherapy milk bath treatment or a fynbos milk bath combined with a back, neck and shoulder massage.
There is a buchu wrap as well as a restorative wrap using the healing Cape chamomile plant. On the more exotic front there is a coconut rub and milk ritual wrap as well as an exotic lime and ginger salt glow treatment.
There are also hiking trails into the nearby mountains for fitness seekers, as well as a heated infinity pool and a smaller secluded rock pool with views up the mountain.
Alternatively, go jogging, fishing or swimming on the gorgeous golden beaches nearby or just hang out in one of the garden hammocks enjoying the spectacular views and surroundings.
This beauty spa in Cape Town has been voted third in the Hotel Spas Africa/Middle East and Indian Ocean sector of the Conde Nast Traveller UK Reader's Awards.
