Resthaven Guesthouse is Biker Friendly & we encourage Offroad enthusiasts to experience the many Trails & Mountain Passes in our area. The Lesotho Border is a mere 30km from Matatiele & Resthaven Guesthouse becomes the ideal base from which to explore the Southern Drakensberg & Lesotho, with there being 3 Border Posts in close proximity

Places to visit include Maletsunyane Waterfall, Ongeluksnek, Lake Letsi, Orange River Gorge & the Huge Cave, easily do-able in a Day Trip

Enjoy excellent Fly Fishing for Trout a mere 10 minute drive from Resthaven Guesthouse at a magnificent Mountain Lake. Resthaven Guesthouse will organise all the necessary Fishing Permits & relevant information for our guests. The Mountain Lake is an incredible Sundowner Spot as well, with Breathtaking Views & abundant Birdlife, including Rare Species such as the Rudd’s Lark, Yellow-Breasted Pipit, Cape Eagle Owl, White-Backed Duck & Southern Pochard. Our area also is home to all 3 Species of Crane, namely Wattled Crane, Blue Crane & Crowned Crane
