Overview

TThe Legend Golf and Safari Resort is situated within the Entabeni Safari Conservancy in the malaria-free Waterberg Region of the Limpopo Province of South Africa, just a 35 minute flight or a two and a half hour drive from Johannesburg. This new resort is setting new standards in exclusivity and tranquility and reflects the rich cultural legacy of this ancient part of Africa.

The Legend Golf & Safari Resort consists of an exceptional and unique 18-hole Signature Course, a luxury estate and many other facilities, situated on a Big 5 Game Reserve in the heart of the African bush.

Signature Golf Course
The Golf Course, designed as an 18 Hole Championship golf course, is the longest golf course in South Africa, providing all golfers, irrespective of their handicap, the experience of a true African Challenge. The course plays at 6,534 meters for daily play but is capable of being extended to 7,748 meters for tournaments, making it one of the longest in the world. The world class championship course, the Signature Course, with each hole designed by one of the world’s leading golfers, has been ranked ‘The Best New Course in South Africa’ by Golf Digest and provides one of Africa’s most spectacular game and golf experiences.

Tribute Course
The Tribute Course, a ten-hole Par-3 course, with each hole being modelled on the best par 3 holes in the world, is designed to be played in approximately 2 hours. This par 3 course is a journey around the best holes in the world and provides a stunning additional golf experience to the championship 18-hole Signature Course.

The Extreme 19TH
The now famous Extreme 19th is the world’s longest and highest Par 3, providing every golfer with an unforgettable golfing experience. Accessible only be helicopter, the hole is situated.

Once the exhilarating helicopter flight to the top of this mystical mountain is completed, the player is treated to the golfing view of all time – miles of African bushveld stretching as far as the eye can see, a vista of epic proportions, and nestling at the foot of the mountain is the green – contoured and shaped like mother Africa herself. There is nothing like it anywhere else on planet golf!

Club House
A ‘temporary’ clubhouse has been specially constructed with all the facilities you would expect at a world class resort – despite it being under canvas; It boasts changing rooms and luxury showers for men and ladies plus a golf pro-shop and a bar and dining area capable of seating 120 indoors and more on the outside decking which offers magnificent views of the golf course and spectacular Waterberg scenery.

Sporting Facilities
Visitors to the resort can learn and practice the game of golf at the unique Golf Academy and Family Golf Centre which includes a driving range as well as chipping and putting greens. The state-of-the-art sports facility, the Field of Legends, currently offers tennis and soccer facilities; a netball/basketball court and volleyball facilities.

Game Viewing
The wildlife experience is impressive with more than 55 mammal species (including the big five, consisting of lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard and rhino) 300 plants species and 380 bird species… not to mention the wide variety of insects, reptiles and amphibians all co-existing in five spectacular diverse eco-systems including grasslands, bushveld, forests, mountains and river beds.

Game drives may be booked when making your reservation or at the resort. Now nature and modern leisure meet in perfect harmony as the Legend Golf & Safari Resort is developed in a way that minimizes the impact on the development of the natural environment. Indeed with socio-economic responsibility programs in place the resort is helping to breathe new life into the region.

Endangered Wildlife Centre
The Legend Golf & Safari Resort Wildlife and Cultural Centre is a must visit. Here our white lions live. Some now living on purpose-built island, there is no fence between you and the lions… a great photo opportunity. Also see two male cheetah and a variety of other great animals including buffalo and parrots!! The centre also boasts the Pedi Village African cultural centre, and a Tea garden
