Overview

KKAGGA KAMMA NATURE RESERVE is located in an untouched wilderness area near Ceres, in the Western Cape.

Far away from the city lights, in a vast open space where rock formations frame the horizon, there is a place where lovers of nature can explore and experience a truly unique environment. Kagga Kamma NatureReserve is nestled in the scenic and peaceful Southern Cederberg Mountains, in the Western Cape. The Nature Reserve is renowned for its scenic beauty and dramatic rock formations. With a rich and fascinating Cultural Heritage, this area offers spectacular scenery, ancient Rock Art sites, amazing indigenous fauna and flora, phenomenal night skies, majestic mountains and small critters that are scarcely seen in other parts of the country. The San and Khoi people lived at Kagga Kamma many years ago and today guests can see traces of their existence in the unique Rock Art that dates back 1200-6000 years.

The accommodation options are just as unique as the landscape they are set in and they add to the sense of adventure Kagga Kamma offers. Choose between a ‘Cave’ Suite, beautifully integrated with the sandstone rock formations; or spacious Hut Suite, resembling the traditional dwellings inhabited by the clans of the area many years ago. For a truly remarkable and extraordinary experience, the beautiful Open-Air Rooms allow for an entire night under the stars, without compromise on comfort, as you drift off with just the covers between you and the heavens above. Admire astonishing views; traverse theNature Reserve on foot, two-wheels or four. Cool off in the sky-blue pool, eat dinner under the stars and experience the tranquillity and bliss that this destination offers. Kagga Kamma makes use of a Solar Photovoltaic hybrid energy system. This system provides around-the-clock environmentally-friendly power to the entire resort, reducing hazardous emissions, and therefore, offering guests a one of a kind experience. Without the constant buzzing lights and disturbance of technology, guests are able to truly hear and see nature at its rawest and most beautiful.
