MMonday, 4 June 2018, JOHANNESBURG:  Registration for Africa’s premier business events trade show is now open. South Africa’s travel tourism products and services in the Meetings Incentive, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) sector can now register to exhibit at Meetings Africa 2019, which takes place from the 25th to the 27th of February at the Sandton Convention Centre.

A must in the tourism calendar, Meetings Africa will celebrate its 14th  year  in 2019. The trade show was born in response to the global meetings industry’s growing recognition of Africa as a sought-after premier business events destination and is tailored to encourage and stimulate the rotation of meetings on the African continent

“The MICE sector is an integral part of not only South Africa’s tourism offering but the rest of the continent too.  We would therefore like to invite exhibitors to register and partner with us in our efforts to use Meetings Africa as the ultimate platform for the regional business events industry to engage in a bid to attract more global and regional business events to Africa,” says Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo, Chief Convention Bureau Officer at the South Africa National Convention Bureau, a business unit of South African Tourism.

The two-day trade show has a dedicated educational day (Business Opportunity Networking Day) which is executed in conjunction with key industry associations (SAACI, SITE, EXSA, Event Greening Forum and ICCA).

“We have a diversity of tourism products and services and we are serious about showcasing them to the world. Value and benefit for all businesses (regardless of size) is key at Meetings Africa and this is why we are committed to bringing quality buyers as well as highly- regarded captains of the industry from across the world,” added Kotze-Nhlapo.

With a world-class matchmaking diary system, as well as a programme designed to maximize engagement and networking for collaboration and partnership opportunities, participating exhibitors will be able to meet and do business with MICE industry professionals from across the globe.

Key highlights include:

  • Meet around 400 highly qualified hosted buyers from across the globe
  • Interact with hosted media from across the continent and world
  • Benefit from the services provided by South African Tourism’s marketing team
  • Hold face-to-face meetings with key decision-makers
  • Targeted business matchmaking (online diary system) is available
  • Network with industry colleagues across multiple sectors
  • Launch new product and service offerings
  • Update the industry on existing products
  • Participate in networking events and educational sessions

Exhibitors at Meetings Africa 2019 will once again be entered into the Green Stand Awards to give recognition to the exhibitors who go that extra “green” mile.  Furthermore, the event will host and promote SMEs, all fostering the tourism economy and boosting the value chain.
