JJust over an hour outside of Johannesburg, nestled on the banks of the Vaal River, you’ll come across a small town with a big heart. Meet Parys, so named in 1876 by its surveyor, who said its setting reminded him of Paris on the River Seine. The "parfait" (perfect) weekend getaway!

Things to do:

Water sport activities in Parys include river rafting, water skiing, canoeing, angling and power boating. Other adventure sports on offer include abseiling, gliding, hiking and 4x4 routes.

The local restaurants cater for an exciting and diverse culinary experience. Enjoy South African "vetkoek" "boerekos", afval, sausage rolls and "pap and wors".

The R59 Vrededorp Wine Route offers exclusive distilled brandy and liquors and a variety of traditional South African Mampoer - you can taste 52 different kinds. Mampoer is a fruit brandy pot-stilled until the alcohol content is highly concentrated, also known as white lightning.

To end off the weekend unwind, relax and enjoy a pamper session at one of the various spas in Parys. Allow us to cater to your every need in tranquil surroundings while listening to the calming rush of the Vaal River.

We can't wait to welcome you!
