CCome play high in the mountains of Africa, skiing and snowboarding, then relax in one of the bars at Afriski, which offers a great ski holiday, from the accommodation, ski equipment, snow passes, ski school and food.

You will forget that you are in Africa, as Afriski operates like a European ski village. If you have never skied, don’t worry there is a ski school as well. In fact, at Afriski it is compulsory for all novices to take lessons before they are allowed on the slopes, to avoid unnecessary accidents. For more experienced skiers, Afriski offers a regular one-day freestyle camp, so that you can get together with like-minded people and improve your skills in the Kapoko Snow Park.

Did You Know?
AAfriski is one of only two ski resorts on the African continent.

AAll instructors have international qualifications in skiing and snowboarding. It is advisable to book lessons in advance during busy times, such as early June when most South African schools are on holiday. Lessons can also be booked at the instructors' office on arrival. Various ski and snowboarding competitions are held at Afriski in the winter months, attracting many top international competitors.

AAfter-skiing fun is in the bar or pub at Afriski. One of the highlights is the "snowboard challenge" whereby a snowboard is attached to the roof of the bar at Afriski and it is a popular tradition for guests to see how many shooters they can manage to down while hanging upside down from the snowboard. You have to be there to experience the fall-down laughter it generates.

Don’t leave when the snow does. This natural mountain landscape is a perfect destination for mountain biking, trail-running and 4×4 activities. Accommodation caters for all budgets from backpackers, chalets or self-catering. All of these are a stone’s throw away from the restaurants, slopes and rental facilities.
