TThe Workshop ko Kasi is a sanctuary that has buildings made out of recycled and natural material such as pallets, earth soil, stones and rocks, grass and now the latest addition, old tyres and other material. Our space houses a township café, an African spa with cultural tours on donkeycarts, a laundromat and occasional events such as pop up markets, poetry and storytelling sessions to create a platform for social cohesion and for small businesses to get together to showcase their products. The café is called Kasi Café and serves artisanal food and beverages, and the place naturally carries a sense of local flavour in our menus. We prepare food that is shared amongst friends and families and sometimes even strangers, because that is what Ubuntu is to us. Our spa is not luxurious and high-end in nature like most Western or Eastern spas but ours is rather rooted in the use of authentic African customs and rituals to achieve healing and wellbeing, with the use of locally-sourced natural products. An authentic, raw African township experience is what we offer...
