• We run the world’s highest natural bungy jump - on Africa's highest bridge - and we offer walking tours of the bridge, too.
• We keep everyone safe, treat everyone with respect, help everyone have fun.
• The Bloukrans Bridge is 216 meters high.
• We secure you in a full-body harness combined with ankle connection to ensure your safety.
• We use pendulum bungy technology (the cord is secured to the opposite side of the
bridge from the launch platform) so that you’ll enjoy the smoothest, most comfortable
bungy on the planet. When the cord pulls you out of your free-fall, you’ll immediately
segue into a huge pendulum swing as you rebound towards the bridge. Our safety record is100% accident-free.
By the end of December 2015, 292,831 people had bungeed Bloukrans (we opened
the bridge for bungy in 1997, although we introduced commercial bungy jumping to South Africa in 1990.)
We have had a number of world records associated with Bloukrans. In 2003, Bloukrans bungy was recognized as the world’s highest commercial bungy jump. In 2008 we were part of two more world records. Veronica Dean performed 19 bungy jumps in one hour and Bill Boshoff performed 101 jumps in a 24 hour period. Bill’s world record was subsequently surpassed, in 2011 we facilitated Scott Huntley to regain the world record with 107 jumps in the 24 hour period.
We have played host to the likes of Prince Harry, Jack Osbourne, Thabo Mbeki, The Zuma family, Bobby Skinstad, Hansie Cronje, Fanie De Villiers, Kelly Slater, Andy Irons, The Amazing Race, and many more famous and not so famous visitors - you never know who you could meet on any given day at Bloukrans, the world’s highest bungy bridge !
We have also been contracted by ITV’s “I’m a celebrity get me out of here”, The USA production of “The Amazing Race” and have featured in a number of local and international advertising productions.
We have always supported the principles of the triple bottom line (financial, social, and environmental accountability)
Bloukrans Bungy acknowledges the rights of workers, upholds South Africa’s labor
laws, and encourages local entrepreneurs to share in our success through the
establishment of businesses of their own (catering, curios and gift sales, etc.) at our
Bloukrans campus - which attracts thousands of visitors every year. Bloukrans Bungy pays 10% of turnover the to the Tsitsikamma Village Trust, which was established to improve the lives of members of our local community.
