OOur tour promises a cultural experience filled with unique insights. Guests enjoy access to many of Bo-Kaap's historical and religious sites, allowing for a deeper insight into what makes this area so special.
We take a break at a community Creche and Madrassa (Muslim School), whilst enjoying some refreshments including Koesisters and other traditional biscuits.
Our journey continues up and across the area to visit Bo-Kaap's founding Sheikh, Tuan Guru. This is also a great vantage point for the community and its boundaries.
We end with a visit to one of SA's oldest Mosques and also the most active today. The Mosque from the back gains access to a communal garden attached to a family home, also our endpoint for the tour. Points of interest include:
Auwal Majied (First Mosque)
Boorhaanol Creche & Pre-primary
Dorp Street Farmhouse
Bo-Kaap Civic Association
Tuan Guru Shrine
Bo-Kaap family home
