The Transfrontier park concept restores the ancient African ideal when there were no borders and no divisions and all could walk free. Our wildlife heritage is truly unique in all the world where we are home to the big SIX. Each of our nine provinces offers many unique experiences to ensure that you take an unforgettable wildlife experience home with you.
The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is a place where desert lovers can find food for the soul, in the remote north of South Africa, straddling the border with Botswana. Here arid landscapes give life to exotic animals and indigenous flora.
The Kgalagadi park boasts all the creatures of the Kalahari Desert - from gemsbok to meerkats - and will enchant visitors with its shimmering sandscapes and red dunes. You may also be extremely lucky and see the black-maned Kalahari lions
This is a place of intense silence, wide skies and extremely hot days. Kgalagadi means 'place of thirst' in the ancient SAN language.
