Overview

TThe four-star, family-friendly Aquila Private Game Reserve & Spa lies just a short two-hour drive from Cape Town - the Mother City. The 10-000 hectare conservancy is situated between the Langeberg and the Outeniqua Mountains in the Karoo, and is home to the majestic Big Five.

Various types of accommodation are offered, catering to everyone from couples, to families of eight. Guests can opt for bush-style cottages with outdoor rock showers or the modern-style Aquila Lodge, which boasts magnificent views across the reserve. The lodge also features conference facilities and a children’s entertainment area.

The reserve’s wildlife is a true draw: guests can embark on game drives in traditional safari vehicles or choose from more adventurous options, heading out on horseback or riding a quad bike. Whichever mode of transport is chosen, it’s sure to be a memorable wildlife experience.

A private safari — complete with traditional South African snacks and champagne — can also be arranged for intimate gatherings while out in the veld.

The reserve features a 35-metre swimming pool with a poolside bar, serving delicious cocktails and ice-cold drinks. Elsewhere, an African-style buffet restaurant dishes up local cuisine, and the cosy bar and lounge offer the perfect spot for guests to relax after a meal.

After dark, guests can gather around the firepit to swap stories and toast marshmallows on the braai (traditional barbecue). And to add to the romantic atmosphere, a Star Safari guide is always on hand to help identify the mass of constellations twinkling overhead.

Relaxation is the name of the game here: at the spa, visitors can enjoy a luxurious African treatment and unwind after an action-packed day. The spa boasts a heated

indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a sauna, a steam room, nail bar and 10 treatment rooms. A group or couples room also adds to the serenity of the spa.

Aquila is far more than just an unforgettable wildlife experience; it’s a luxurious African adventure holiday dedicated to creating memories to last a lifetime.
