GGame lodges, game drives, bushveld and wildlife reserves - Limpopo is South Africa’s northernmost province, which borders onto Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Botswana, making it the ideal entrance to Africa. Named after the great Limpopo River that flows along its northern border, this province is rich in wildlife, spectacular scenery, friendly people and a wealth of historical and cultural treasures.

SATSA accredited tour operators discovered the wild and free province of Limpopo, at the latest round of national speed marketing sessions. SA Tourism in partnership with SATSA and Limpopo Tourism hosted various trade members from the industry. Tour operators, destination management companies, accommodation suppliers, tourism brokers and adventure tourism providers showcased what makes them distinct at this collaborative trade hosting. Trade members were encouraged to interact and recognise how best to promote product offerings in order to better market and package the province of Limpopo.

AAn overnight stay was enjoyed at AM Lodge and Moditlo River Lodge as well as an early morning game drive, the perfect way to see in the new day. The Rhino Convention Centre provided the perfect location for this session of speed marketing and the SATSA accredited tour operators were truly impressed with what was on offer at this collaborative networking event. A variety of tourism facilities presented what they have to offer to local operators who are responsible for packaging and selling the area to tourists. Adventure activities and wildlife-orientated experiences are the focal points for this area, yet it is evident that the whole area along with Limpopo tourism is making an effort to work together ensuring growth and development is taking place and making it a great place for travellers. The SATSA Chair from Limpopo, Evelien Klokman, said that this particular speed marketing event showed such a vast array of products from adventure to transport to cultural activities and that the calibre of tour operator was phenomenal.

TThe group then proceeded to Hans Merensky Hotel for check in and to freshen up before proceeding to Sefapane Lodge for site inspection and dinner. Breakfast was enjoyed by all at Hans Merensky before departing to the Qualito Craft Distillery Tour. It should also be mentioned that Hoedspruit Airport is the perfect entry point to this wildlife area and makes travelling too far by car minimal. The speed marketing sessions play a vital role in fostering and building a relationship between key tourism players, and that in turn drives knowledge about what is available in the industry.
