Mphebatho museum offers the cultural and historical side of the Pilanesberg. There are activities such as interactive drumming, village bicycle tours, marimba band, traditional dancing and playing ancient household activities. These offer visitors real life experience of Bakgatla Ba Kgafela and also a chance to interact with community members such as Leeto Kgolo Village Tour – This exciting tour takes you to four Bakgatla heritage sites combined with a travel through the village on bicycles. It comprises of breaks at a local shebeen/tuck shop, at “Tshilong” where you’ll learn about traditional food preparation and concludes at TT’s, a home restaurant. There is a slight adventure as the route takes you on different landscapes.. On arrival, a local tour guide will take guests through a 20-minute tour of the museum to explore the traditions of the Bakgatla-Ba-Kgafela, before embarking on the bicycle tour. • We offer activities that afford visitors real life experience of Batswana and also interaction with community members. • Expansion of our products to involve community such using a home restaurant of community member; visiting a local shebeen and visiting an elderly in the village for storytelling as part of our packages has seen formation & inclination of rural and cultural tourism thus creating opportunities for rural & cultural tourism products & business development. - Mphebatho Museum is based next to two of the biggest tourism nodes in the North West Province, Sun City & Pilanesberg National Park, which offer wildlife & leisure, we offer the history, heritage & culture of the area.
