LLeydsdorp is classed as the smallest city in South Africa. This forms part of the true history and culture of South Africa dating back to 1891. Originally a little gold mine where the gold for Paul Kruger Rands were minded, this little property now boasts a 2 star hotel with all the amenities you will expect. Traditional flooring, bar counter and billiard table. Rooms are set up in the old stables and decorated and fitted with all the modern conveniences you will expect at a 2 star property. Game Drives are offered on the farm as well as picnics from the mountain where the mines are. You will immerse yourself in the wonders of traditional cooking, hometown hospitality and yesteryear elegance. Join the locals in the evening and listen to stories of the head of the hedgehog being shot at in the bar or when Paul Kruger stayed there and signed official documents making it a city. Go down in the cellar and feel a presence, but still know that you are stepping in history. Spending a weekend is the perfect getaway for the weary soul and for the children, what is better than swimming in the large swimming pool or even going on a ghost tour.
