6Leather goods

In the village of Mokgareng, just outside of Taung, the ladies of Areitekeng – which means “working for ourselves” – make stunning sandals and shoes from leather and springbok hides. Similarly you'll find leather cushions and accessories made by the Reatlegile Youth Project near Taung.

7Recycled Glass Products and Wire Art

Unique, handcrafted glassware like wine glasses and beer mugs are made from recycled glass by trained local crafters. Glass items are usually more chunky and creative than conventional glassware. Funky original wire art is also sold at the side of the road.
