Mutariko cultural project is an organisation that brings to life the African ancient times’ way of life in the modern world through indigenous African dances and music instruments that include but not limited to the following (Marimba, Mbira, Isitolotolo Uhadi/umakweyane, nyanga pen pipes, djembe and vungu Drums. The group which hails from Nelspruit in Mpumalanga province fuses South African cultural music with cultural music from other African countries. Through music and poetry the project is working towards instilling African traditional values. Music of the past is brought to life by the modern man and uses it to transmit cultural values and indigenous traditional beliefs from the past. MUTARIKO which means a bridge, brings together the modern and old generation as by listening to the group playing you are taken down memory lane thus you are connected to the ancient good old times as well as being kept in the modern world of music.
