This magnificent, well-known Cape Town building boasts sweeping views of Table Mountain (below which it lies), the Harbour and Table Bay. Dating back to the 1920’s, the lodge is very stylish, with an impressive white exterior and attractive wooden-framed windows, looking out on views in all directions. The interiors are classic and unfussy, with polished pine floors and newly refurbished curtains and linens. The nine rooms are extremely well appointed, with spacious and classy tiled en-suite bathrooms. Each room has television and mini-bar and all the facilities one would expect from a 4-Star establishment. A full English breakfast is served every morning with an impressive array of fresh fruits, cold meats, cheeses and smoked salmon, as well as a range of cooked breakfasts. Light meals and dinners are available on request. The colourful gardens are home to plentiful birds and squirrels and the pool provides the perfect place to while away the hours on a sunbed with a large gin and tonic and a view over the Mother City and Tablebay to Bloubergstrand and the Hottentots-Hollands Mountains in the North.
