Global trends and how they affect South African business will be a major focus at the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) congress. Sought-after trends analyst Dion Chang will be a keynote speaker.
Congress chairperson Merryl Fairfoot says Chang’s presentation fits in perfectly with the congress theme, ‘To the beat of a different drum’.
Delegates will also be addressed by motivational speaker Mark Berger.
‘We trust that our speakers will inspire delegates to try new approaches when conducting business,’ says Fairfoot.
Delegates are encouraged to book their accommodation early as August is high season in St Lucia. For information about sponsorship and exhibition opportunities, and to register online, visit the 2014 SAACI congress website.
Meanwhile, the Hotel Investment Conference Africa (HICA) takes place from 14 to 16 September 2014 at The Maslow hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg.
Registration for the conference opened on 21 May 2014 and delegates are invited to take advantage of the early-bird registration rate.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Seizing opportunities’, with the spotlight focused on sub-Saharan Africa.
Topics on the programme include a panel discussion on seizing opportunities in sub-Saharan Africa; operational and development challenges unique to the region; managing the competitive demand on natural and human resources; critical discussions around development and investment challenges unique to the sub-Saharan Africa region; and proprietary knowledge, information and insight on hotel industry investment and development trends.
HICA brings together regional and international hoteliers, investors, developers and senior public-sector leadership for two days of insightful content, networking, constructive debate and deal-making.
'HICA has become a leading source of information for senior executives and industry leaders seeking to source capital, resources and investment know-how for all nature of hotel projects across the rapidly growing sub-Saharan region,' says Tourism Business Council of South Africa CEO Mmatšatši Ramawela.
