SAT Germany celebrates award-winning campaign

South African Tourism’s work in Germany has been recognised by a panel of communications experts.

The German office of South African Tourism has been honoured with a Silver Award at the annual World Media Festival in Hamburg, Germany, for its brand campaign, Packendes Südafrika.

Held on 15 May 2013, the World Media Festival is an international competition for communications media and is considered a premier event in the communications industry. The only forum of its kind in Europe, it is an event that garners the attention of leading communications professionals from around the world.

During 2012, the Packendes Südafrika campaign recorded more than 340 000 visits to the website www.dein-suedafrika.de. The website details ‘heartfelt moments’ that travellers can experience only when travelling to South Africa. The panel of judges awarded the campaign for its innovative communication mix, design and implementation – all key criteria.
