Don’t miss the FITUR 2013 participation deadline
We would like to invite the South African trade to participate and give their businesses exposure to the untapped Latin American market. - Chardonnay Marchesi, Thebe Special Projects, Conferences and Events project manager
International tourism trade fair FITUR 2013 takes place in Madrid, Spain from 30 January to 3 February 2013. It is the 3rd largest tourism trade fair in Europe.
A global meeting point for tourism professionals, FITUR 2013 provides the perfect opportunity for South Africa’s tourism stakeholders to showcase their products to the Spanish and Latin American markets.
South African Tourism (SAT) has appointed Thebe Special Projects, Conferences & Events to assist with the South African pavilion at FITUR 2013, which will be a joint venture between the public and private tourism sectors. SAT is hosting the pavilion.
Chardonnay Marchesi, Thebe Special Projects, Conferences and Events project manager for the South African pavilion at FITUR 2013, says FITUR provides South Africa with a huge opportunity to capitalise on the momentum generated by the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, which was won by Spain and closely followed in Latin American countries.
‘We would like to invite the South African trade to participate and give their businesses exposure to the untapped Latin American market,’ she said.
FITUR 2012 was attended by 209 260 tourism professionals from all over the world and 7 726 journalists from 59 countries. More than 87 074 members of the general public attended the event.
‘All South Africa’s tourism professionals who attended FITUR 2012 were very pleased with the results of their participation due to the large number of contacts they made with Spanish and Latin American tour operators, tour agencies and tourism journalists,’ added Marchesi.
