We are truly pleased that ICCA president, Arnaldo Nardone, will address us at the 2012 SAACI congress. Delegates will get an accurate glimpse of the state of the industry worldwide. - Wayne Johnson, SAACI 2012 congress chairperson
The Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) congress in 2012 will be held at the Indaba Hotel in Fourways, Johannesburg, from 29 to 31 July. The theme at this year’s congress is ‘Shifting Paradigms’.
Congress chairman, Wayne Johnson of SAACI’s Northern Territories Branch, says Nardone’s acceptance to address the congress is indicative of South Africa’s stature in the international meetings industry. ‘We are truly pleased that Nardone will address us. Delegates will get an accurate glimpse of the state of the industry worldwide,’ he said.
Nardone, a Uruguayan, has been actively involved in the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) for many years and has raised the association’s profile across Latin America. He has launched major initiatives to improve areas such as statistical measurement and professional development and training. In 2008 he received ICCA’s highest honour, the Moises Shuster Award. It recognised his outstanding work over many years in supporting ICCA’s growth and profile in Latin America and promoting the importance of the international meetings industry throughout the region.
ICCA is the only association that comprises a membership representing the main specialists in handling, transporting and accommodating international events. ICCA's network of over 900 suppliers to the international meetings industry spans the globe, with members in 86 countries.
Members and any other industry stakeholders interested in attending the SAACI congress can register online on the SAACI congress website. Early bird registration closes on 4 May 2012.
