This is the second incarnation of The Fez Club. From August 1998 to December 2005, the original Fez club operated on the corner of Hout and Burg streets in inner-city Cape Town.
The Fez Club is the top nightclub in Cape Town at the moment, frequented by the young professional set that likes to be seen among the rich and beautiful. There’s nothing grungy about this established party spot; strictly dress-to-impress, you will be turned away if you’re not kitted out in your suavest gear.
The Fez is closely associated with Vaudeville dinner theatre, also highly popular. Burlesque dancing and singing, trapeze artists, strength acts, and a host of creative performances punctuate the pricey but high-class 3-course meal. Vaudeville takes advantage of the Fez’s opulent interior for a naughty night like no other.
Inside, rich embellished wooden features and North African-inspired drapes, chandeliers and large staircases make for a sophisticated and trendy night outAs far as Mother City haunts go, this experience is unique and signature. The who’s who the urban creative set come here almost exclusively to mingle.
During the summer high season, you may be lucky enough to spot an international celebrity or two here. The Fez has become a favourite haunt for actors and singers who visit Cape Town with entourages in tow. Mick Jagger, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kim and Khloe Kardashian are just some of the famous names that have taken part in the late-night revelry.
The Fez’s party starts late on weekend nights, when clubbers join the post-Vaudeville dinner set for progressive house music supplied by an impressive set of guest DJs, both local and international.
A long line usually forms outside the Fez as the night progresses, so try to get onto the VIP list – you can apply on the website or via Facebook. Otherwise be prepared to wait outside.
