Saxon Spa & Studio

The Saxon Spa & Studio is built around the concept of creating a tranquil space of rest, relaxation and rejuvenation for tired city-dwellers in need of a fix. There are a wide-range of treatments available including Tibetan Sound Therapy and a Rasul Chamber.

Did you know?

The Saxon has been voted as one of the world's leading boutique hotels and the Saxon Spa and Studio was voted the Best Day Spa in South Africa 2006 by Les Nouvelles Esthetiques and named Top 100 City Spa in the World 2007 by Tatler UK.

The Saxon Boutique Hotel and Spa is one of South Africa's best-known small hotels. Situated in tranquil grounds in upmarket Sandhurst, the property epitomises tasteful elegance with a distinct African touch, and the six acres of landscaped gardens offer a tranquil space close to the business hub of Sandton, Johannesburg.

A major highlight of the property is the Saxon Spa and Studio. This harmonious space redefines the ultimate urban spa. From the privacy of the treatment gazebos to the various relaxation areas and treatment rooms, the Saxon Spa and Studio offers tranquillity and pampering in a lush setting.

This Sandton beauty spa was designed to house a number of therapies and wellness treatments. The downstairs area has numerous facilities including a colour-enhanced Steam Room and Flotation Pool as well as an interior-heated jet pool and cold plunge pool. The outdoor wooden deck is a peaceful space for guests to relax and take a breather between treatments. In addition, the outside Sensational Showers have been designed around the theme of fire and water.

There are a range of health, beauty and wellness treatments, with the Signature Sound Therapy treatment being a real favourite. The treatment involves gongs, drums and bells and the vibration is said to help rejuvenate the body on a cellular level. Another signature treatment to look out for is the African Byzantine-styled mosaic Rasul Chamber where guests can enjoy the warm mud treatment (a multi-sensory experience using clay and aromatherapy). The mud treatment is applied from top to toe and washed off with a ‘rain forest' shower.

Visitors can also enjoy refreshing health drinks from the juice bar and a health menu is available. A favourite spot to relax is the ‘juice pit' with its hot stones at your toes.
