Pezula won Best International Spa Hotel 2011 in the International Hotel Awards in Association with Bloomberg Television.
Pezula Resort Hotel and Spa certainly has its location as a major plus point. The setting combines views of the Knysna lagoon, the Indian Ocean and acres and acres of indigenous forests. Combine this setting with world-class spa treatments (with an African flavour) and you have your very own little piece of paradise.
The Spa at Pezula boasts a heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room, outdoor jacuzzi, juice bar, state-of the art gymnasium and nine therapy rooms. There are a number of signature treatments on offer, including the Matombo Experience which begins with a fynbos exfoliation, and then is followed by Pezula's signature African Massage using mineral volcanic rocks to aid relaxation.
Pezula's Phumla massage is another treat and combines a number of massage therapies and makes use of Maruwa Shea butter to soften and penetrate the skin. The Chibayamoyo Experience should also not be missed - it's a ‘togetherness package' (for couples) incorporating the Rasul Chamber and cleansing rituals.
This Garden Route spa has a number of specialised spa packages - how about the African Dawn (Body Scrub, Maruwa Wrap, Swedish Massage and Deluxe Facial), The Heartbeat of Africa ‘trip' (incorporating Mbvura Hydrotherapy treatment, Deluxe facial, manicure and pedicure, eye treatment and a hair wash and blow dry. There is also the Renaissance Root package, the Mists of the African Plain and the Untamed African Melody package.
Pezula Spa has also recently included a Medi-Spa which includes medical spa treatments dealing with a variety of skin problems - combining medical science and a variety of therapies.
It's not surprising that this unique spa continues to win accolades for excellence - it's a true African oasis in the middle of one of South Africa's most scenic regions.
