Did you know?
Euphoria is one of the first golf courses in the world to have its own cableway.
Golfers who want to try something different, should head out to the Mookgophong area in South Africa's Limpopo province.
Courses to consider out this way are the Legend Golf and Safari Resort, the Naboomspruit Golf Club, Zebula Golf Estate & Spa (a Peter Makovitch-designed Bushveld Links Course), Euphoria Country Club and the Waterberg Golf Course.
Aside from the obvious golfing attractions, the area is home to great wildlife, spas and resorts.
The Euphoria Country Club is part of the Euphoria Golf Estate & Hydro and is the perfect blend of golf and relaxation. Bear in mind however, that the course has no less than 85 bunkers, meaning you definitely need to bring your 'A' game, as well as your sand wedge.
The Legend Golf and Safari Resort is home to what is widely regarded as the world's toughest par-3 hole, the Xtreme 19th, for which you will need to take a helicopter ride to get to the tee box.
A round of 19 holes, including the helicopter ride, will cost around R2 000, but according to the Xtreme 19th leaderboard, many people have enjoyed it so much, they have been back again.
The Waterberg area is enjoyable all year round though summer can get extremely hot.
