Mangwanani magic

Mangwanani African Spas

Mangwanani African Spas are novel in many magical, mercurial and mysterious ways. Each and every treatment package has been inspired by the African continent, whether it’s a facial, full-body massage or welcoming foot treatment or ‘gift’ … here, the African magic element is palpable, and the allure lingers on and on.

Mangwanani Day Spas Mangwanani - let the magic unfold

Did you know?

Mangwanani has a range of products especially formulated for the South African climate.

Mangwanani African Spas are heavenly retreats that offer the wisdom and wonder of the continent as part of the deal. The brainchild of entrepreneur, Erin Limbert, whose initial idea was to create a day spa that offered something a little different to the usual treatment menu - a spa that would incorporate African-inspired therapies into the mix (while empowering local communities). Limbert's first Mangwanani Day Spa was opened in 2002 along the banks of the Hennops River. The rest, as they say is history - and there are now 9 Mangwanani Day Spas.

The Mangwanani spas offer creative packages that you certainly won't find in European spas (or anywhere else but Southern Africa, for that matter). There is the African Revitalisation Package that sets the tone - it consists of UBUSO - A Renewing African Facial Spa with Pressure Point Massage; TLAPISHO - A Full Body Cleansing incorporating an African mielie meal exfoliation; IZIMANGA - also known as ‘heaven on earth' (it's a full body traditional massage using hot stones); MOLALA - a North African head massage using sesame oil; NEO MAOTO - the traditional African ‘foot gift' incorporating a sugar and grape seed scrub and the NEO MATSOGO using sugar and grape seed scrub and incorporating the noteworthy Mangwanani massage cream.

At this African spa there are numerous packages to choose from including the Mangwanani Vital Renew Package, the African Queen Package, the Mother's Day Package, the Mangwanani Moroccan Full Day Spa Package, the Shwe-Shwe package and many others (including something special for brides, expectant mums and there is even something for the dads).

At Mangwanani every effort has been made to incorporate a taste of Africa into every single spa package and what's even better to note is that Mangwanani creates jobs and empowers women - so it's a win-win situation all round.
