Did you know?

In 1923 the Hartbeespoort Dam, situated in one of the valleys of the Magaliesberg Mountain range, was completed.

Get high on adventure in Hartbeespoort – it’s packed with activities from effortless to extreme. Hartbeespoort Dam’s a great water sports destination, so get those endorphins flowing with para-sailing, windsurfing, water and jet skiing, and for those who love heights paraglide, hang glide, microlight, take a heli-flip or climb aboard a hot air balloon and glide over the Magaliesberg Mountains, one of the oldest ranges in the world - at dawn, glass of champagne in hand.

Be entertained by pelican, seal, penguin and crocodile displays at the aquarium, have a wild animal encounter at the nearby De Wildt Cheetah Centre, see the Big 5 (elephant, lion, rhino, leopard and buffalo) at Plumari Game Lodge or spend the night in an elephant sanctuary; or get up to speed with the cheetahs at De Wildt Wildlife Cenre.

Pump-up that adrenalin rush by whizzing through the tree tops of Yzsterkloof Gorge, suspended 30m in the air, on a forest canopy tour.

Mountain bike, horse ride or quad bike the surrounding hillsides; and, why not go abseiling, rock climbing, kloofing (canyoning) or white water rafting? After all, Hartbeespoort has it all…
