Did you know?
Garonga Safari Camp featured in the Trip Advisor Traveller's Choice Awards for 2013 in three categories: top 25 small hotels in South Africa, top 25 hotels for service in South Africa and top 10 hotels for romance in Africa.
At Garonga, 'Soul on Safari' has become a buzzword for those who visit and those who work here.
This exquisite camp, situated in the Makalali conservancy of the western Kruger Park consists of a luxury tented camp (sleeps 12) that promises an up-close-and-personal encounter with nature.
Tented ‘rooms' are situated over a dry riverbed, and a hammock on the wooden deck simply hints at the journey of rest and restoration that awaits.
There is also the option of staying in Little Garonga which consists of three luxurious, air-conditioned suites. Activities include wilderness walks, sleeping out under the stars, bush baths and pampering therapy sessions out in the African bush.
Garonga's outdoor salas (a thatch-roofed facility) is where a number of wonderful treatments can be enjoyed as you imbibe the sights and sounds of nature. There is a sala at both Garonga Safari Camp and Little Garonga.
The Garonga Indulgence Experience is the signature treatment. Your feet are wrapped in pine and peppermint scented cloths (to improve circulation, and this is followed by a back, neck and shoulder massage using hot stones and aromatherapy oils). Either a scalp or foot massage ends off this ultimate pamper package.
There is also the Tranquil Feet reflexology treatment, the Blissful Head Massage, the Aromatherapy Full Body Massage, Manual Lymph Drainage and a facial massage. The therapists also make use of the Moya range of products which have been inspired by plant life found in the unique Cape floral kingdom.
One of the things that makes this Garonga health and wellness experience unique is the fact that massages and treatments are very affordable which means you can combine a number of treatments and make a day of it!
To take this soul safari experience even further, the bush and bath sleep-out is very popular, where guests get to bath and sleep under the stars in perfect privacy.
