The Erinvale Estate Hotel & Ginkgo Spa offers up an intimate spa experience that is both private and personalised. Touch therapy is at the heart of the Ginkgo philosophy, allowing the body’s innate wisdom to guide and inform the holistic therapist. Excellent facilities and beautiful scenic surroundings make this a haven for wellness-seekers.

Did you know?

Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa was awarded the AA Travel Guides American Express Accommodation 'Best Luxury Hotel for 2010' at this year's Travel INDABA.

The Erinvale Estate Hotel & Ginkgo Spa is a boutique country hotel set against the beautiful Hottentots Holland Mountains in Somerset West, an easy half-hour drive from Cape Town outside of peak hours.

The Erinvale Estate Spa, on the hotel property, is operated by the Ginkgo Spa and Wellness Group. The Ginkgo philosophy is to create a spa experience that is truly intimate, yet never intimidating. For this reason, each location has a maximum of only four treatment rooms.

The four rooms at the Spa at Erinvale are light and spacious, and two of them have been fashioned to offer clients ‘a spa within a spa' experience. This allows visitors the luxury of their own private space for as long as they want it in which to enjoy their chosen treatments, relax and indulge in a healthy snack from the juice bar. Or, if the fancy takes them, make use of the steam room, indoor heated whirlpool, outdoor pool, sun deck and relaxation area to get away from it all.

The therapies are carefully chosen at this Erinvale country spa to create an environment to combat the stresses and discomforts which are the inevitable by product of a busy urban life.

Touch therapy is the foundation on which Ginkgo's operating philosophy is built, the principle of using the natural ability within ourselves without having to rely on quick fix solutions.

The spa prides itself on offering treatments that are based on the traditional touch therapy principles. Each Skin, Spa and Touch Therapy treatment begins with a symbolic foot-bath - a ritual representing the cleansing of life's stresses and tensions.

The spa's treatments represent a blend of traditional and global accents. Many of the therapies are based on the beauty, healing, and rejuvenation secrets of ancient cultures which in turn focus on both the inner and outer self - with nourished skin, soothed muscles and a calmed mind.
