Cape Trike Tours

Cape Trike Tours The Clarens Drive with Cape Trike Tours

Imagine absorbing the beauty of the Western Cape on the back of a trike. All the driving is taken care of. It’s just you, the open road, the sky and vast landscapes beside you. Cape Trike Tours offers just this: a tour on the back of a trike - a 3-wheeled motorcycle.

Did you know?

'Trike' is short for tricycle and refers to a vehicle with 3 wheels, one at the front and two at the back.

Cape Trike Tours offers 5 tours that cover the Cape Winelands, the whale route, the West Coast, Cape Town city centre and the Cape Peninsula. You can also have a custom tour put together for you.

The Cape Point Tour takes you on a scenic ride from Camps Bay to Cape Point and back again. Along the way you’ll go through Hout Bay, over Chapman’s Peak (if open), visit the endangered African penguins’ colony at Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town, see Fish Hoek, cross Boyes Drive and stop at Rhodes Memorial.

The Hermanus Tour takes you to the Overberg via the N2. Ride through the coastal towns of Strand and Gordon’s Bay to Rooi Els, Kleinmond and Hermanus. You’ll return to Cape Town over the mountains via Houwhoek Pass and Sir Lowry’s Pass. This route is renowned for whale watching.

The Sunset Tour is for those who love romance. You’ll be collected from your place of residence for a ride through Cape Town, along Sea Point and Camps Bay and up to Signal Hill, where you’ll be served a bottle of sparkling wine and snacks.

The West Coast Tour follows Marine Drive through Melkbosstrand then moves onto the R27 to Langebaan and Club Mykonos on the coast. Malmesbury in the Swartland marks the point of return to Cape Town along the N7 freeway. Wide open skies, stark but striking landscapes and a majestic ocean will flank you on this ride.

The Winelands Tour takes you through the valleys of the Cape Winelands and on 2 wine tastings: one at Spier and one at Simonsig Wine Estate. Somerset West, Grabouw, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch are on this route. You will ride across Sir Lowry’s, Franschhoek and Helshoogte passes on this tour.

With the custom tour you can develop an itinerary of your choice. Some terms and conditions apply, so go to the Cape Trike Tours website for more information.
