Kai Thai Spas offer the perfect Thai massage. The treatment menu has a range of therapies designed to de-stress and rejuvenate. There are quicker massage options for those who have limited time, while relaxing half-day packages are available those in need of a more serious mind/body/soul workout.

Did you know?

Fish therapy is on offer at some of the Kai Thai Spas – a unique therapy to remove dried skin from the feet

Kai Thai Spas offer customers the luxury of Thai body treatments at affordable prices – and you don’t have to travel too far to find them (or to Thailand for that matter).

The spas boast deep, vibrant colours, Thai statues and sculptures, soft cushions, canopied beds and highly skilled therapists. These spas started in Johannesburg, but have branched out to Pretoria and Durban.

What is immediately reassuring about the Kai Thai concept is that you’re getting the real deal – most of the therapists learnt their craft from Kai Thai International in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and are well versed in traditional treatments.

For the uninitiated, a Thai massage is a little different from your garden variety Western massage – in Thai massages, the focus is on working the energy lines and pressure points, and can be a pretty vigorous workout.

In terms of treatments, there is quite a variety on the menu, and you have the choice of really lingering (take a 90-minute treatment) or just dropping by for a quick 30-minute fix-it massage. Facials and body scrubs are also an option, and there are special packages if you want to combine treatments.

These spas offer wonderful respite and relaxation. With sit-down corners, day beds and herbal teas available, you can really make a morning or afternoon of it. Escape the world outside, which magically recedes, and step into Kai Thai’s soothing space. You'll leave feeling revived, both physically and mentally.
