Situated in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site area, Lesedi is just 45 minutes' drive from
Lesedi Cultural Village comprises 5 traditional homesteads inhabited by Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi, Basotho and Ndebele tribes. Guests can enjoy a 2.5 hour cultural experience that comprises a visit to the Ndebele village craft market, a multi-visual presentation on the history of South Africa’s people, a guided tour of the 5 homesteads, and traditional singing and dancing. This can be followed by a meal in Nyama Choma restaurant where you can taste impala, ostrich and crocodile meat.
Conference facilities and African team building activities make Lesedi an ideal venue for corporate outings. It has 5 well-equipped conference rooms decorated with African murals. The stories of these murals are explained and the conference blessed by Lesedi’s sangoma.
For groups that wish to stay the night, Lesedi has 38 luxury huts, decorated in traditional cultural style but with modern conveniences. For larger groups, neighbouring properties can cater for an additional 140 guests.
For those seeking unusual team building experiences, Lesedi won’t disappoint. Learn the art of stick fighting and spear throwing before going into mock battle against your team mates. Try your hand at cattle herding, gumboot dancing and African drumming, or take part in a cultural quiz.

How to get here
Lesedi is located just north of Johannesburg on the R512 (the Lanseria road) on the main route to Sun City and Hartebeespoort dam.
Around the area
Lesedi is located near the Hartebeespoort dam in the Magaliesberg mountain range. Here you can enjoy game drives, walking trails, and guided Anglo-Boer history tours. You can also visit craft markets, or go horse riding, birdwatching, river rafting and golfing.
