Gallagher Convention Centre is a multiple award winner. The 5-star convention centre was named ‘Best Exhibition Venue’ by the Exhibition and Event Association of Southern Africa in 2009 and 2010. Ideally situated in Midrand - close to both Johannesburg and Pretoria - Gallagher Convention Centre has 5 purpose-built ground floor exhibition venues offering more than 25 000sqm of exhibition space. It also offers 19 multi-purpose venues.
There are 12 conference rooms and boardrooms, an auditorium, a ballroom, the Gallagher Grill and a variety of other venues. Each one is ideal for business events.
Its 3 large meeting rooms are sub-divisible, each with their own foyers. All venues are equipped with the latest technologies and expert technical support is offered in addition to videoconferencing, satellite and interpretation facilities.
The ballroom can accommodate up to 1 200 delegates for a conference or 500 guests for dinner. An internationally acclaimed team of chefs caters to every taste or cultural requirement, and the kitchens have also been certified by the National Independent Halaal Trust.
Gallagher’s auditorium can accommodate 400 delegates for a conference or product launch, and 180 guests for a seated dinner. It has a revolving stage, a spacious adjoining foyer, a star suite and a chorus dressing room.
The Gallagher Grill, with its grandiose marble foyer and outdoor deck in the beautiful convention centre gardens, can seat more than 200 guests for a conference or banquet. It can also host 350 guests for a cocktail party.
Other great alternatives are The Gazebo, which can accommodate 80 guests cinema style; the Koi Deck - surrounded by tranquil gardens and streaming waterfalls - which can accommodate 180 guests cinema style or 50 guests for a banquet; and the Lotus Suite, which lies in a secluded corner of the gardens and can accommodate up to 100 guests.
Near Harold’s Bar and the Business Centre are 4 self-contained boardrooms that can accommodate up to 30 guests for high powered meetings.
The Wine Garden Restaurant offers superb alfresco dining, while the wine cellar can be used for small intimate functions.

How to get here
From OR Tambo International Airport:
Take the R24 to Johannesburg. At Gillooley's Interchange take the N3 split to Pretoria. Stay on this road for about 15km, then again take the N1 split to Pretoria. Take
the Allandale turnoff. Take the Kempton Park split and then the Midrand slip onto the Old Pretoria Road. At the traffic lights turn right into Le Roux Rd. At the stop street at the garage, turn left into Richards Drive. Proceed through 2 stop streets. Gallagher Convention Centre will be on your left.
From Pretoria, travelling south, take the Allandale offramp to enter Midrand. Turn left onto Allandale road (traveling east to Kempton Park). Take the second left onto Old
Pretoria Road/ K101-R101, take the third left onto Johnnic Boulevard, Gallagher Entrance straight ahead at T-junction.
Around the area
There are numerous shopping centres, restaurants and spas in and around Midrand. The new Turkish Mosque in Midrand is great place to explore. You can also visit Lory Park Zoo,
Tours to do
Tours in and around Gauteng can be arranged - from visiting Soweto and the Apartheid Museum to visiting the Lion Park, Lesedi Cultural Village, the Cradle of Humankind, and the Union Buildings in Pretoria. At Gecko Jewellers in Midrand you can enjoy an underground gemstone mine tour and see a wide variety of polished and unpolished gemstones.
Hire a car or request a shuttle service from your hotel to the convention centre.
Where to stay
It is advisable to stay in and around Midrand if you have an early start as freeway traffic between Johannesburg and Pretoria can be heavy.
