The accolade goes a long way in affirming our strategic positioning to make Meetings Africa the best business exhibition show on the continent. – Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo, SANCB executive manager.
The annual Exhibition & Event Association of Southern Africa (EXSA) Industry Awards are the only awards in South Africa that acknowledge the exhibition industry.
Scan on Show, the South African National Convention Bureau’s (SANCB) officially appointed exhibition management company for Meetings Africa, walked away with the Best Trade Exhibition 3 001-6 000m² Award and the Best Green Exhibition Award – both for Meetings Africa.
Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo, SANCB executive manager, said the SANCB is very pleased to be honoured with the Best Trade Exhibition Award.
‘The accolade goes a long way in affirming our strategic positioning to make Meetings Africa the best business exhibition show on the continent. The Best Green Exhibition Award is also a fabulous achievement for our team, which works tirelessly every year to make the show as green as possible, in line with global trends and practices,’ she said.
The 2013 show was well represented by 12 regional African destinations, 295 hosted buyers and 34 African associations.
'The success of Meetings Africa 2013, which brought more than 2 880 delegates together to network and do business, has reaffirmed our commitment to making this a pan-African business events travel trade show. At Meetings Africa 2013, we embodied our theme "Advancing Africa Together" and showcased to the world that it is possible to bring event buyers, exhibitors and other stakeholders together under one roof – making it the best business trade show,' said Kotze-Nhlapo.
The EXSA Industry Awards aim to recognise and acknowledge the excellence of EXSA members in their various fields of expertise, as well as showcase the region’s world-class standards, services and marketing to potential exhibitors and visitors. The awards also encourage collaboration between members to contribute to the success of the industry.
Meetings Africa takes place from the 24 to 26 February 2014 at the Sandton Convention Centre. For more information, visit the Meetings Africa website or follow them on Twitter: @SA_NCB.
