South African Tourism concludes 10th India roadshow

South African Tourism’s (SAT) 10th India roadshow received an excellent response from the Indian travel trade at a time when tourist arrivals from India continue to grow.

to showcase the varied experiences that South Africa has to offer as a holiday
destination and to present the latest products and services to the Indian
It has proven to be an effective platform for the partners from India and South
Africa to interact and cultivate business opportunities.
India is among the top 10 tourism source markets for South Africa. From January to September 2012, 79 306 Indian tourists visited the country, an 18.3% increase over the same period in 2011.
Hanneli Slabber, SAT's country manager for India, said that over the years South Africa has witnessed a continuous increase in Indian tourist arrivals, making India a key market for the country.
‘It has been our constant endeavour to enhance our engagement with our key stakeholders in India to further boost tourist arrivals to South Africa. Each year our roadshow has provided the perfect platform for Indian travel operators to expand their understanding of South Africa’s offering, and develop and strengthen business opportunities with the South African partners present,' said Slabber.
The India roadshow
was attended by 66 South African tourism product owners and tourism stakeholders.
Among the attendees were destination management companies, accommodation
establishments, destination marketing organisations, tour operators, conservation
stakeholders, private game reserves and adventure operators.
‘In order to sustain our growth and widen our audience reach in India, we will continue to explore new markets and traveller segments and plan focused initiatives to leverage the available opportunities,’ concluded Slabber.
