The AFCON local organising committee has appointed the South African Travel Centre (SATC) as the official travel agent for the tournament.

SATC has released attractive travel packages for football fans in South Africa and across Africa who wish to come and watch their favourite teams battle it out for the AFCON trophy.

Bulelwa Koyana, SATC CEO, said the travel packages are tailored to suit the demanding needs of travelling football fans.

‘This is not just another way to attract football fans to tour our beautiful country. It is also meant to allow these fans to enjoy quality accommodation and transportation while attending the games,’ said Koyana.

Most packages include domestic airfares, two nights’ accommodation, three days of car rental, as well as a Category 1 match ticket that allows fans the best viewing positions in various world-class stadia. The packages allow time for football fans to explore the areas where the matches are being held.

Sixteen African nations will be participating in the tournament, which will be hosted in Johannesburg, Rustenburg, Mbombela (Nelspruit), Durban and Nelson Mandela Bay (Port Elizabeth).
