I would like to thank all our partners working with us in India and South Africa for their commitment to promoting the destination extensively and for their continued support and collaboration. – Hanneli Slabber, country manager of SAT India

Lonely Planet Magazine India has voted South Africa the Best International Destination for Wildlife for two consecutive years – 2012 and 2013. Lonely Planet readers voted for South Africa through an online poll as well as through the magazine.

South Africa also received the International Lifestyle Destination of the Year award at the NDTV Good Times Lifestyle Awards 2013. At a glamorous ceremony in New Delhi in March, Hanneli Slabber, country manager of SAT India, received the award from actress and model Shilpa Shetty Kundra. The jury comprised some renowned names in the India travel, tourism and lifestyle industries.

In April, South Africa came second in the top five 'Best Family Destination Awards' category at the Travel & Leisure India’s Best Awards 2013.

Meanwhile, SAT India's Slabber was selected as the Best Professional in Marketing by the editorial board of the Safari India National Tourism Awards 2013. The award is presented annually and recognises leadership qualities in the hotel, tourism and travel agency industries. Slabber will be awarded at the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association International Seminar on 9 August 2013.

SAT India also walked off with the Today’s Traveller Best Publicity and Promotions Award 2012. Its innovative outdoor and cinema campaigns, as well as a country guide penned by famous former cricketer Jonty Rhodes, were among the initiatives that contributed to it receiving this award.

Slabber said SAT is honoured and proud to be the recipient of these prestigious awards across a wide range of categories.

'These awards are a testimony to the hard work, commitment, focus and dedication of the team at the tourism board. We were mandated to showcase South Africa’s varied offerings to diverse traveller segments in India, and this we’ve done by working innovatively and with total dedication. I would like to thank all our partners working with us in India and South Africa for their commitment to promoting the destination extensively and for their continued support and collaboration,' she said.
